I hope you’re all having a nice Bank Holiday now that the weather has momentarily dried up. And if you’re not in the UK, I hope you’re having a nice Monday! My day will probably be spent doing some work then annoying Tali by calling her name every time she falls asleep. Which is a lot. Hey, fair is fair, she does something similar to me! Though I probably should get a better hobby…

It’s Easter! To celebrate, I made a silly little Gif of Tali being tormented by a decorated egg. Why? I could say it’s part of ongoing experiments with animation techniques but in reality, I made it just for a laugh… Happy Easter!

I’ve been playing around with digital illustration thanks to a rather nifty new PhotoShop brush that replicates inking onto watercolour paper. While I was doing things digitally, I thought I’d have a crack at making one of those wobbly 3D images. I think it’s come out okay and may be introduced into some upcoming comics. Tali vs the Matrix anyone?!
This is a little something I’ve been working on for the last couple of weeks as part of a larger project. I was asked to develop six animations stings for a video aimed at educating the many generous volunteers CP has. What you see above was an introduction to a section on media featuring Anthony Head, who kindly voiced some of the video. Now that I’ve really sunk my teeth into animation, I have a feeling it’ll become a bigger part of my illustration role, which is great because it was a lot of fun!

Cats Protection are in the midst of organising a big online social event to raise awareness of the often overlooked black cat and I was asked to produce artwork for banners and adverts. This little guy above can be seen on the official CP black cat page - that is if you can find him… And if you own a black cat, you can help be a part of the campaign too which kicks off next Thursday! Check out the official page for more info.

Can someone let cats know that a laptop or keyboard do not make good seating areas? Particularly if they happen to sit on the delete button…

Here’s something I’ve been playing about with recently. I wanted to see how my cat illustrations look when animated so scribbled a few frames down and compiled them together to make a cheerful animated gif. I quite like it so might do some more animations in the future…
