Here it is, the final part of All Too Familiar. Sad isn’t it? Without sounding too preachy, this kind of thing happens all the time and was one of the reason why I drew the comic in the first place. Working for a charity like Cats Protection means I’m exposed to these topics and makes me want to help the only way I can - by drawing comics! That and dropping hints about visiting the official CP site for more information about older cat rehoming…
I’m in the process of getting All Too Familiar printed so if you’d like a version you could hold in your hands (how retro!) complete with a sketch in the front page, more details will be coming next week.
All Too Familiar

Part three of All Too Familiar is go! I hope you’re enjoying the comic so far, there’s still three more weeks to go so be sure to check back. If you missed any of the previous parts, you can find them by clicking the link below and as ever, more info about rehoming older cats can be found by clicking here.
All Too Familiar

Tali likes a good old stretch after her many naps and one move in her repertoire involves stretching her back legs then collapsing in one big lazy flump.

Introducing All Too Familiar, my first serialised comic! I’m quite excited as I’ve put a lot of work into this and for the next five weeks I’ll be posting another part of the story. The comic was inspired by a press release a friend of mine wrote for the Cats Protection website a number of weeks ago about the difficulties in rehoming older cats. If you’re interested, you can find more information about that here, otherwise I hope you enjoy All Too Familiar!

I thought I’d treat Tali with some chicken yesterday but little did I know how excited she would get when I actually said the word to her. She shot from the living room, caring not for anything that got in her way…

In a stark contrast to Monday’s post, Tali, very rarely, doesn’t make a sound at all which for some reason really concerns me. She’s not ill or anything, just messing with me…

I don’t know why I honestly thought Tali would answer me. As in, make some form of sound that I could interpret as a word that isn’t meow. Yet whenever I received the usual cat call from her, it bothered me as if Tali was just being awkward… I’m such an idiot.

Happy pancake day! It’s an old joke yes but still quite relevant if, like me, you’re a messy cook and have a cat who enjoys hanging out in the kitchen while you’re creating said mess.

We’ve all been there, when you enter a room and a foreign scent meets our nostrils. We want to believe it’s just our imagination, or that left over smell from some spicy food. But it isn’t. And it’s often in the most annoying of places.

The weather may be warming up but there’s still a while to go before we’re in t-shirts and Tali has found the perfect way to stay warm, though it is something most of us generally do anyway. She’s a bit slow, bless her.

Of course I didn’t really forget Valentine’s day but the sentiment remains true - what better gift is there than the love from a cat?…Don’t think about it too long though, because you’ll probably be able to name quite a few things…(love you really Tali!)

It’s cold, it’s dry and any source of water appears to be frozen at the moment. So a walking ball of fluff attracts a lot of static electricity and fussing that ball of fluff results in a sudden discharge of said electricity. Tali’s like her own little power station at the moment!

We finally had some snow over the weekend and while it didn’t really phase Tali too much it did remind me of one of my previous cats, Suzy and one of her adventures in the snow.

Monday is never a popular day of the week and not too long ago was the dreaded blue Monday where all the lavish spending from the previous months suddenly becomes frighteningly clear in the form of bills. Tali however had a brilliant solution to my particular problem.

With Monday being the start of the Chinese New Year, it’s now the Scots’ turn to party, celebrating the birth of their famous poet, Robert (Rabbie) Burns. He may not have written many poems featuring cats but in Willie Wastle, Burns suggested an elegance to a cat cleaning herself. An elegance that Tali could do with…
